Accounting Manager Apply
Position: Accounting Manager - exempt level position
Becket & Lee, LLP, a longstanding leader in the bankruptcy community, has an immediate opening for an Accounting Manager to join our team. The Accounting Manager will be an integral part of the Firms Finance & Accounting team charged with oversight of the critical day-to-day accounting operations, Accounts Payable and Receivable, payroll functions and oversite of the General Ledger. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in current accounting practices and a self-starter with the ability to work independently and provide Leadership. Candidate must have a bachelors degree in accounting, possess advanced excel skills and has at least 2-5 years of managerial experience. Familiarity with Sage 300 is preferred. Active CPA license is preferred, but not required. This is a full-time hybrid (onsite/remote) position.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee day to day operations accounting operations including AP, AR, treasury, and payroll functions
- Manage a team of 3, some of whom are remote
- Responsible for month end and year end close process as well as preparing financial statements and supplemental schedules
- Ongoing review of internal controls and company policies and procedures
- Responsible for the Firms accounting practices and the maintenance of its fiscal records to ensure internal and external audit requirements are maintained and in compliance
- Assist in budgeting and cash projections
- Work with HR Director to manage financial aspects of employee benefit programs and payroll
- Coordinate financial statements audit with the Firms external auditors
- Maintain relationships with financial institutions, external auditors and tax preparers and clients
- Prepare and maintain departmental disaster preparedness plan and participate in yearly testing events
- Coordinate and manage any accounting software conversion projects
- Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting (CPA is preferred, but not required)
- Knowledge of US GAAP
- Strong analysis and problem-solving abilities
- Strong understanding MS Excel (vlookup, pivot tables, charts)
- Ability to provide feedback, identify and articulate issues, escalate issues through appropriate channels
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong acumen towards accuracy and attention to detail
- Demonstrated aptitude working both independently and within a team
Credit/Criminal check and Drug Screen required.
