A Public Company Seat for a Big 4 Trained CPA
Opportunity Overview
This is not a turnaround. It is a high-performing function that has decided to get even better. The organization is actively modernizing how revenue and cost of sales are recognized, reported, and controlled, and they are doing it with real investment in automation, agentic AI tooling, and a modern close and reporting stack rather than slideware promises.
The position reports directly to the Revenue Controller, a strong BIG 4 CPA and genuinely strong leader who develops people rather than just managing them.
For a sharp Manager coming out of Big 4 or a strong national firm, this is the move that bridges public accounting and public company life without the chaos most people expect when they make that jump. You get the technical depth of a complex revenue environment, the visibility of a name everyone recognizes, and a leadership group that will actually let you build.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Own the integrity of the company's primary revenue and cost of sales cycle, ensuring recognition is accurate, timely, and fully compliant with US GAAP
Lead the accounting through close for revenue, settlement and receivable activity, collections, and the related cost streams tied to each transaction
Partner across FP&A, Treasury, Operations, Procurement, and Internal Audit to resolve issues, support forecasting, and continuously sharpen the close
Design, document, and strengthen the policies, procedures, reconciliations, and internal controls behind the revenue process in a public, controls-driven environment
Turn automated revenue and cost reporting into insight that leadership actually uses to make decisions
Lead audit readiness and serve as a primary contact for internal and external auditors through quarterly reviews and the annual audit
Drive process optimization and automation initiatives, including AI-enabled solutions, that measurably reduce manual work and improve accuracy
Mentor and develop the team, raising both performance and bench strength
What Makes This Opportunity Different
You report to a leader worth working for. The Revenue Controller is a CPA with a reputation for building careers, not just hitting deadlines. The exposure to senior leadership is real and it starts on day one.
You get to build, not babysit. This is a company genuinely investing in modernizing the function. If you are someone who sees a manual process and wants to automate it, you will have both the mandate and the tools to do it.
The technology is current. A modern ERP, a recently implemented reconciliation and close platform, enterprise reporting and consolidation tools, and active adoption of analytics and agentic AI. You will not be exporting to spreadsheets and praying.
The trajectory is upward. The last person in this role advanced. That is the pattern here, not the exception.
The environment is built for the people in it. This is an in-office role at a flagship South Florida campus, and the company has gone out of its way to make that worth it: an onsite barista and coffee bar at no cost to employees, a full fitness center with showers, and a large cafeteria where lunch typically runs a few dollars. Hours are humane and predictable, which is rare at this caliber of company.
What We're Looking For
CPA required
Roughly six or more years of Public Accounting experience ideally in Big 4 or 2nd tiered National CPA firm
Solid command of US GAAP and revenue recognition under ASC 606
Experience operating in a SOX-compliant, controls-driven environment
Genuine leadership instincts, including the ability to mentor, motivate, and grow a team
A forward-thinking mindset toward automation, data, and AI-enabled process improvement
Exposure to modern ERP, close, consolidation, and analytics tooling is a strong plus; real estate or construction industry background is a nice-to-have, not a requirement
