This role is pivotal in overseeing all aspects of corporate accounting and ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, and controls. Accounting Manager - Westmont, NJ
Employment Type: Full-Time, Onsite (Direct Hire)
Salary Range: $90,000-$100,000 annually
Key Responsibilities
- Lead corporate accounting activities, including:
- Month-end close (accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, detailed P&L review, and related reporting/commentary)
- Cash and treasury management
- Fixed asset accounting
- Bank reconciliations
- Sales and use tax preparation for filing
- Lease accounting
- Serve as a primary liaison with internal and external stakeholders (vendors, landlords, auditors, banking partners).
- Oversee outsourced service providers for sales audit, cash deposits, and supporting documentation.
- Assist with annual 1099 filings.
- Collaborate with Controller and CFO on annual audit and tax processes.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Operations, IT, Facilities) to drive process improvements.
- Support special projects such as new store openings and system integrations.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of growth and professional development.
- Experience: 5-7 years in corporate accounting within retail/restaurant or public accounting (Big 4 preferred).
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA preferred).
- Strong proficiency in:
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- US GAAP and technical accounting
- ERP systems (R365 or similar preferred)
- Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Collaborative mindset with experience working across multiple departments.
