Our client, a growing consulting firm, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and support the firm’s financial integrity and scalability. This role is responsible for managing the monthly close process, supervising accounting staff, and ensuring accurate financial reporting in a fast‑paced, project‑based environment.
The Accounting Manager will play a key role in strengthening internal controls, improving processes, and partnering cross‑functionally with leadership to support informed decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the full monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Review and prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals
Supervise and mentor accounting staff; provide guidance, training, and performance feedback
Coordinate with external partners, including auditors, tax advisors, and outsourced service providers
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
Analyze financial data and provide insights on trends, variances, and operational performance
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management in collaboration with finance leadership
Improve accounting processes, documentation, and systems to support company growth
Assist with special projects, system implementations, and ad‑hoc financial analysis
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
2+ years of progressive accounting experience, including management or supervisory responsibility
Experience in a consulting, professional services, or project‑based environment is strongly preferred
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
Proficiency with accounting systems and Excel; ERP experience a plus
Proven ability to manage deadlines, prioritize workloads, and lead teams effectively
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
Clear communicator with the ability to partner with both finance and non‑finance stakeholders
