Position Summary Oversees certain functions of the Accounting department, in conjunction with the Assistant Controller, including fixed asset accounting and reporting, personal property tax accounting, sales/use tax compliance, and corporate income tax. This role supervises certain staff and/or senior accountant(s). Essential Functions Actively train, supervise, and evaluate staff/senior accountant(s) reporting to this position. Monitor and analyze financial accounting data. Manage and oversee fixed asset accounting and capital asset reconciliations. Assist the Financial Analysis department with capital budgeting. Maintain monthly personal property tax accounting, preparation and/or review of personal property tax filings with state and local tax jurisdictions, act as lead on any jurisdictional audits. Prepare or review monthly and quarterly sales/use tax filings, including the processing of payments, act as lead on any jurisdictional audits. Coordinate the gathering of information needed for the completion of quarterly income tax provisions and annual corporate income tax returns. Preparation of annual franchise tax and annual ACA PCORI excise tax filings. Other general ledger entries at month‑end closing. Select balance sheet account reconciliations at month‑end closing. Select expense account variance analysis at month‑end closing. Prepare various financial audit schedules and analysis. Cross‑train and assist with duties of other accountants. Follow proper accounting procedures to reach financial objectives. Work with strong time management and organizational skills. Promotes excellent customer service to co‑workers consistent with the NextCare Mission Statement, Vision, Values and Performance. Performs other related duties as assigned or described in Company. Essential Skills and Experience Education: Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance. Experience Minimum of five years in Accounting, three or more years of work experience as Accounting or Finance. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Skills Strong aptitude for numbers. Good analytical skills. Valued But Not Required Skills and Experience Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains), FAS, Sage, BNA or similar fixed assets applications. Health care industry experience. Reporting To This Position Staff and/or Senior Accountant(s).
