Accounting Manager

A growing manufacturing company is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to lead its accounting function through a period of transformation and build-out. This is a key role for someone who enjoys creating structure, driving process improvement, and owning the full accounting close in a fast-paced environment.

The Role

The Accounting Manager will oversee day-to-day accounting operations including AP/AR oversight, cash management, month-end close, general ledger review, and monthly financial reporting. The role includes direct management of one Staff Accountant and ownership of the broader accounting function. NetSuite experience is strongly preferred.

What You'll Do

• Lead and manage daily accounting operations including AP, AR, cash management, and month-end close
• Supervise, train, and develop one direct report, reviewing daily transactions and work output for accuracy and completeness
• Review AP and AR transactions to ensure proper coding, completeness, and compliance with company policy
• Generate weekly payment activity including check runs, ACH payments, prepayments, and wire transfers
• Own the month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, reclasses, and reconciliations
• Review the general ledger in detail monthly, investigating unusual activity and ensuring all balances are accurate
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements in compliance with GAAP
• Ensure intercompany transactions are properly recorded, reconciled, and accurately reflected in financial statements
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls across accounting operations
• Manage monthly sales and use tax review and compliance processes including Avalara
• Develop and document standard operating procedures as the department scales
• Drive process improvements and help build scalable accounting procedures
• Partner cross-functionally with other departments on accounting-related matters
• Manage annual 1099 review and submission process

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience including 1–2 years in a supervisory or managerial role
• NetSuite ERP experience required
• Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and month-end close
• Experience in a manufacturing or multi-entity environment preferred
• Solid knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and general ledger functions
• Strong Excel skills and the ability to adapt in a fast-moving, evolving environment
