Remote Position Accounting Specialist This new role will support teams across Two Roads by providing relief during transition periods or unexpected surges in workload. Remote work – enjoy working from home Flexibility – get work done when it fits into your schedule while still being responsive during normal business hours and meeting deadlines Autonomy – self‑starters rejoice, no micromanaging here Great Team Culture – teammates with a broad range of experience ready to help Growth Potential – opportunities for excellence and efficiency lead to personal and professional growth What You’ll Be Doing Team Support as Needed Temporary Bookkeeper and Accounting Coordinator Backfill – step in for day‑to‑day responsibilities to reduce the burden on Team Leads when a team member is out unexpectedly or during a transition period Help cover work during crunch time (producing 1099s at year‑end, reviewing financials for year‑end, or completing Quality Reviews to help a Team Lead) Client Projects – assist with cleanup projects for clients, research software solutions, or other client needs as required Onboarding Cleanup – support the team with client onboarding cleanup as needed Training & Mentorship Help conduct internal training in collaboration with Team Leads Serve as a mentor for onboarding and development of new team members Be a resource and example for software best practices Ongoing Controller Client Support – act as the Controller for a subset of clients on an ongoing basis, with potential growth into a full‑time Controller role Communication Internal Communication – maintain timely, same‑day response time with team members, keep ClickUp tasks up‑to‑date, use ClickUp comments for task communication, keep relevant team members informed on client project/cleanup work, participate in the monthly team meeting, and inform the Bookkeeper and Team Lead of vacations or time away following PTO guidelines Client Communication – 9‑5 EST availability for client support, maintain timely, same‑day or early next‑day response time, be responsive to client phone calls, be the primary email contact for client questions, and be available for remote meetings with the client as needed Team Member Profile Responsive to clients and teammates Monday‑Friday, 9 am – 5 pm EST via email and phone Self‑starter – finds answers; knows how to get help when needed Works autonomously – no micromanagement Committed to getting work done on time Quick learner of new software Friendly, helpful, and humble Minimum Education 2‑year degree (AA, AS, etc.) Experience 4+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience Location Must be in Eastern or Central time zones Interview Process Online Application – take 1+ plus hours to complete, provide resume, and record a video Initial Video Interview – review the application and conduct an initial video interview with a potential candidate Second Video Interview – with the potential Team Lead and a team member to confirm values, goals, and vision alignment Final Video Interview – with upper management to address final questions and ensure a win‑win fit Offer – perform a background check, draft the offer letter, finalize details on start date, and begin!
