The Accounting Specialist will play a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely processing of transactions. This position will assist in accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, and auction-related settlements, while also supporting month-end close and reporting processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment. Responsibilities Process accounts payable transactions accurately and efficiently Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors to ensure efficient communication and service Prepare auction settlement statements, ensuring timely and accurate payment disbursements Collaborate with internal departments to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure proper coding of expenses Provide timely and professional responses to consignors regarding their payment status and details Support Accounts Receivable operations by preparing invoices, recording payments, and assisting with collections as needed Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations Maintain and organize accounting files and documentation in accordance with company policies and GAAP standards Provide administrative support to the Controller and finance team as required Assist with audit preparation and special projects as assigned Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience) 3–7 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, ideally in a retail, entertainment, or auction-related environment Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles Proficiency with QuickBooks, Sage Intact, or similar accounting software Advanced Excel skills and experience working with financial reporting tools Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting Skills & Abilities Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills Proactive and self-motivated with a high degree of ownership Collaborative team player with a positive attitude Strong time management and adaptability to shifting priorities Interest or experience in the arts, entertainment, or luxury goods industries a plus #J-18808-Ljbffr
