Description Job Title: Accounting Specialist Location: Towson, MD Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 Department: Finance Reports To: Controller Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a detail‑oriented Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment. Key Responsibilities Process Account Receivables related transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts monthly. Make weekly deposits and A/R entries for client payments received. Prepare and maintain financial reports, including budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses. Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for management review. Support month‑end and year‑end closing processes. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and accounting principles. Respond to internal and external inquiries related to financial transactions and reporting. Review and upload vendor documents into the accounting system. Ensure approvals and coding have been received for all invoices. Collaborate with other departments to support financial operations and improve processes. Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations. Qualifications Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. 3‑5 years of experience in accounting or finance. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting regulations. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Business Central ERP is strongly preferred.
