ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST OPENING

Valencia, CA 
**In-Office 100%**

Volt is immediately hiring for Accounting Specialist in Valencia, CA. 

As an Accounting Specialist you will:

  • Lead full-cycle accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger management.
  • Ensure financial activity is recorded accurately, completely, and within established timelines.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries with thorough and well-organized supporting documentation.
  • Play an active role in month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Oversee payroll processing and maintain compliance with all applicable payroll laws and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate inventory accounting and reconciliation efforts in partnership with Operations and Supply Chain teams.
  • Prepare and file sales tax returns and other required regulatory reports, including multi-state filings when necessary.
  • Generate monthly financial statements and management reports for the Director of Accounting & Finance.
  • Support budgeting efforts, monitor costs, and analyze expenses to help drive financial discipline.
  • Assemble schedules and documentation for internal reviews and external audits.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP, internal control standards, and company accounting policies.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes, systems, and reporting accuracy and efficiency.
  • Protect the confidentiality of financial, payroll, and employee-related information at all times.
  • Provide team support and cross-functional coverage as business needs require.
  • Mentor and develop accounting team members, including leading formal bi-annual performance evaluations.
  • Serve as a key liaison with external auditors to support accurate financial reporting and proper transaction treatment.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align financial activities with business strategies and long-term objectives.
  • Contribute to initiatives focused on operational improvements and process optimization.

This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity.

100% in-office. Monday - Friday: 8:00 to 4:30
 

The ideal candidate will have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and foundational accounting principles.
  • Background in consumer products, manufacturing, or distribution settings is highly desirable.
  • Practical experience working with ERP systems and modern accounting software.
  • Exceptionally organized with the ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrates a high level of integrity and sound judgment when handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Clear, professional communicator with effective verbal and written skills.
  • Advanced Excel capabilities, with solid proficiency in Microsoft Word and email platforms.
  • Understanding of standard office procedures and general administrative practices.
  • Skilled in financial reporting, business writing, process improvement, and analytical problem-solving.
  • Consistently approaches work with professionalism, ethical behavior, and attention to detail.
  • Aligns with organizational values, mission, and guiding principles.
  • Ability to support annual planning efforts for Accounting and Finance teams and partner with leadership to execute objectives.
  • Capable of making timely, well-reasoned decisions using sound judgment.
  • Collaborative, adaptable team player with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Maintains high standards for accuracy, quality, and performance.
  • Comfortable engaging and working effectively with employees and leaders across all levels of the organization.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on building positive, productive working relationships.
  • Flexible and enthusiastic about contributing in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Pay Rate: $32-$38 per hour
