About the job
Our client is seeking an Accounting Specialist (General Ledger) to join their team. This position involves preparing general ledger entries and reconciling accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain amortization schedules for assigned areas.
- Review financials for missing invoices related to assigned areas.
- Conduct balance sheet and income statement analysis, reconciling general ledger activity.
- Prepare and review general ledger entries for accuracy, propriety, and GAAP compliance.
- Assist the Supervisor in General Ledger activities.
- Develop and maintain manual procedures and documentation.
Skills and Experience:
- Associate degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of general ledger experience.
- Competency in financial analysis and reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards and GAAP is preferred.
- Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations is preferred.
- Experience with PeopleSoft is preferred.
