About the job

Our client is seeking an Accounting Specialist (General Ledger) to join their team. This position involves preparing general ledger entries and reconciling accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain amortization schedules for assigned areas.
  • Review financials for missing invoices related to assigned areas.
  • Conduct balance sheet and income statement analysis, reconciling general ledger activity.
  • Prepare and review general ledger entries for accuracy, propriety, and GAAP compliance.
  • Assist the Supervisor in General Ledger activities.
  • Develop and maintain manual procedures and documentation.

Skills and Experience:

  • Associate degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of general ledger experience.
  • Competency in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards and GAAP is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations is preferred.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft is preferred.
