Overview The Accounts Payable Clerk supports the financial operations of the organization by processing vendor invoices, managing payments, and maintaining accurate financial records in accordance with nonprofit accounting standards, donor requirements, and internal controls. The role plays a key part in ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective use of organizational funds. About Little Flower Little Flower Children and Family Services of New York is a human services nonprofit supporting the well-being of children, youth, families, and individuals across New York City and Long Island since 1929. Our staffof more than 500builds well-being by providing prevention services, foster care, residential treatment care, adoption services,programsand services for individuals with developmental disabilities, and medical and mental health services. Responsibilities Verify invoices for proper authorization, coding, and supporting documentation Process vendor and service provider invoices accurately andtimely Maintain accounts payable records in compliance with nonprofit and donor regulations Generate and prepare payments using multiple systems in conjunction with Sage Intact Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies Ensure expenses areallocatedcorrectly to programs, grants, and funding sources When needed, assist with month-end closing and yearly audits Respond to vendor and internal staff inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account balances Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical financial practices Required Qualifications and Experience High School Diploma or GEDrequired. Experience in accountspayable, preferably in a nonprofit or donor-funded environment Knowledge of basic accounting principles and AP procedures Strong attention to detail and accuracy Preferable,experience with accounting systems SageIntact Proficiencyin Microsoft Excel and otherMicrosoftoffice tools Ability to meet deadlines in a structured compliance environment Preferred Qualifications Travel Requirements This position offers afull-time, hybridschedule and is basedinWading River, NY.
