In this setting, students receive individualized attention that only a small college with dedicated faculty and staff can provide. Job Title: Accounts Payable Coordinator Location: Gordon State College Regular/Temporary: Regular Full/Part Time: Full-Time Job ID: 294971 Job Summary This position performs specialized duties in support of the college’s accounts payable functions. Responsibilities Processes invoices for payment. Resolves discrepancies between invoices and statements, purchase orders, and shipments. Verifies expense reports for reimbursement. Identifies and communicates to department personnel concerning lost or delayed expense reimbursements. Routes miscellaneous invoices to departments for approval of payment. Trains faculty and staff on the use of the travel and expense system. Answers telephone; provides information and assistance. Prepares weekly accounts payable and expense reimbursement checks. Reviews daily deposits made by the Bursar Office. Executes monthly p‑card statement journal entries for posting. Reconciles accounts payable accounts at month‑and‑year‑end. Processes 1099 forms. Verifies new vendor information with the IRS. Processes voids and stop payments. Performs related duties. Required Qualifications Associate degree in accounting, finance or related field or a combination of education and experience. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one year. This role is considered a position of trust. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Prior USG or higher education experience. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of computers and job‑related software programs. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Knowledge of college accounts payable policies and procedures. Skill in the provision of customer services. Skill in decision making and problem solving. Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public. Skill in oral and written communication.
