Location: New Haven, CT - Hybrid
Title: Accounts Payable Manager
Salary: $100,000 – $120,000
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full-cycle accounts payable function, including invoice processing, payment runs, and expense reimbursements
- Supervise, mentor, and develop AP staff to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and accountability
- Design and implement AP-related policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Drive process improvements through automation and optimization of AP systems and workflows
- Develop and monitor KPIs and operational metrics to enhance performance, accuracy, and cycle times
- Review aging reports and ensure timely vendor payments
- Partner with Procurement and internal stakeholders to resolve invoice discrepancies and improve processes
- Oversee IRS reporting (1099 & 1042) and Connecticut sales tax compliance
- Manage quarterly and year-end AP accruals and reconciliations
- Support internal and external audit requests and documentation
- Serve as a key liaison to internal departments and external vendors to resolve payment-related inquiries
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
- Approximately 5–10 years of Accounts Payable, including strong supervisory and leadership experience
- Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and AP best practices
- Experience in high-volume, multi-entity environments
- Familiarity with AP automation tools and enterprise financial systems (e.g., SAP)
- Experience with federal and state tax reporting requirements
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- CPA or CMA certification is a plus
