POSITION SUMMARY:

The Accounts Payable Specialist plays a critical role in managing the company's expenditures. This position is responsible for processing invoices, making payments, and maintaining financial records to ensure accurate and timely financial transactions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TASKS

  • Process vendor invoices and employee expense reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare and issue payments, including checks and electronic transfers, while maintaining the highest level of accuracy and integrity.
  • Reconcile vendor statements, resolve discrepancies, and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Maintain organized financial records, including invoices, payment confirmations, and correspondence with vendors.
  • Collaborate with various departments to address inquiries and issues related to accounts payable.
  • Assist in month-end closing processes, including reconciling accounts and preparing reports as needed.
  • Adhere to internal controls and compliance requirements to safeguard the organization's financial assets.

Requirements

  • 2 Year Accounting Degree Preferred
  • Basic accounting knowledge with attention to detail and account numbers.
  • Key punching in a timely manner and accuracy is a must.
  • Customer service / phone skills
  • Possesses strong internal customer service abilities
  • Basic working knowledge in Excel & Outlook

Preferred:

  • Data entry and usage of:  ERP systems, Excel, Word, Outlook, Concur (expense reporting)
  • Associates Degree, Accounting

Other Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in using accounting software and MS Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
