Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
- Process full-cycle accounts payable, including reviewing, coding, and entering vendor invoices
- Ensure proper approvals, accurate general ledger coding, and timely payment of invoices
- Manage vendor relationships and respond to invoice and payment inquiries
- Reconcile vendor statements and research discrepancies
- Assist with 1099 preparation and reporting
- Maintain organized and compliant AP records in accordance with firm policies
- Assist with payroll processing on a regular schedule (weekly, biweekly, or semi-monthly)
- Review payroll data for accuracy, including time entries, deductions, and adjustments
- Support payroll reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and confidentiality requirements
- Assist with month-end close activities related to accounts payable and payroll
- Prepare account reconciliations as assigned
- Support audits by providing requested documentation
- Collaborate with HR and Finance on payroll and employee-related accounting matters
- Perform additional accounting duties as needed
Required
- Associate's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of accounts payable experience
- Prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment
- Payroll processing or payroll support experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and AP best practices
- High level of accuracy, discretion, and attention to detail
