Accounts Payable Specialist (Part-time)

Location: Clackamas, Oregon

At Liberty Electric, we power major public works and infrastructure projects across the Pacific Northwest. Behind every great project is a strong financial foundation-and that's where you come in.

We're looking for an organized, detail-driven Accounts Payable Specialist (Part-time) to join our accounting team. In this role, you'll process invoices, maintain vendor records, and ensure timely, accurate payments-all while supporting our mission to build efficiently and responsibly.


What You'll Do

Reporting to the VP - Finance, you'll play a vital role in keeping our financial operations running smoothly:

  • Invoice Processing & Payment Management

    • Process and record accounts payable transactions in compliance with company policies.

    • Review and verify invoices, purchase orders, and approvals for accuracy.

    • Ensure invoices are coded correctly for job cost and sales/use tax compliance.

    • Manage ACH transactions, manual checks, and credit card receipts.

  • Vendor Management & Communication

    • Maintain accurate vendor records and ensure compliance with terms.

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors.

    • Communicate payment expectations and resolve discrepancies promptly.

    • Reconcile vendor statements and ensure timely issue resolution.

  • Administrative & Financial Support

    • Support the accounting and operations teams with documentation and reporting.

    • Perform regular quality control, proofreading, and process improvements.

    • Assist with filing, mailings, and other administrative tasks as needed.


What We're Looking For
  • Education/Experience:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.

    • Prior accounting or construction industry experience preferred.

  • Skills & Qualities:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Meticulous attention to detail and organizational excellence.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and accounting databases.

    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    • Self-starter with pride in accuracy and follow-through.
