We're looking for an organized, detail-driven Accounts Payable Specialist (Part-time) to join our accounting team. In this role, you'll process invoices, maintain vendor records, and ensure timely, accurate payments-all while supporting our mission to build efficiently and responsibly.
What You'll Do
Reporting to the VP - Finance, you'll play a vital role in keeping our financial operations running smoothly:
Invoice Processing & Payment Management
Process and record accounts payable transactions in compliance with company policies.
Review and verify invoices, purchase orders, and approvals for accuracy.
Ensure invoices are coded correctly for job cost and sales/use tax compliance.
Manage ACH transactions, manual checks, and credit card receipts.
Vendor Management & Communication
Maintain accurate vendor records and ensure compliance with terms.
Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
Communicate payment expectations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Reconcile vendor statements and ensure timely issue resolution.
Administrative & Financial Support
Support the accounting and operations teams with documentation and reporting.
Perform regular quality control, proofreading, and process improvements.
Assist with filing, mailings, and other administrative tasks as needed.
What We're Looking For
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Prior accounting or construction industry experience preferred.
Skills & Qualities:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Meticulous attention to detail and organizational excellence.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and accounting databases.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Self-starter with pride in accuracy and follow-through.
