Accounts Payable Specialist Overland Park, KS | Fully Onsite Full-Time | Contract-to-Hire | up to $28ph. LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a client who is looking for a detail?oriented and dependable Accounts Payable Specialist to join their Finance team. In this role, you'll be responsible for processing high?volume invoices, ensuring timely vendor payments, reconciling accounts, and supporting accurate financial reporting. - Review, code, and process invoices with accuracy and efficiency
- Manage the AP inbox and respond to vendor and internal inquiries
- Match invoices to purchase orders and receipts
- Prepare weekly payment runs (ACH, checks, wires)
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain up?to?date vendor records and W?9 documentation
- Assist with month-end close by preparing AP accruals
- Support internal audits and documentation requests
- Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls
- Identify opportunities to streamline AP processes
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-3 years of Accounts Payable or general accounting experience
- Strong understanding of invoice processing and payment workflows
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, Workday)
- Knowledge of 3?way match processes
- Familiarity with sales tax and vendor compliance
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
