Accounts Payable SpecialistThe role of an Accounts Payable Specialist involves providing financial, administrative and clerical support to the organization. This role requires excellent customer service and communication skills, attentiveness to detail and problem-solving skills to execute daily tasks effectively.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesResearch, reconcile and resolve a variety of routine inquiries concerning account status, including vendor statements, invoice discrepancies, credits, etc.Assist with weekly check runs, monthly status reports, and closing, to ensure all records are accurate for month endsFile and code items such as invoices, vouchers, expense reports, check requests, etc., with correct codes conforming to standard procedures to ensure proper entry into the financial systemHandle vendor correspondence, via phone and email, in a professional and timely mannerPerform other duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsHigh school diplomaValid Driver's licenseTwo years' accounts payable experienceMust be well organized, detailed oriented, and a self-starterPreferred QualificationsAssociate degree with major in accounting2 or more years of experienceMining/manufacturing experienceSpecific Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timelinessAbility to communicate effectively verbally and in writingAbility to interact with employees and vendors in a professional mannerAbility to follow up on pending issuesStrong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skillsExperience using MS Office, including ExcelPhysical Requirements And Work EnvironmentWork is typically performed indoors in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Incumbents must be able to perform work that requires typing, reading, communicating, sitting for prolonged periods of time, standing, and walking. The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Is regularly required to use hands to type, touch, handle, or feelIs frequently required to stand and reach with hands and armsIs occasionally required to walk, climb, or balanceMay occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 20 poundsWill, at times, be exposed to loud noisesIn the event that the incumbent visits an operations worksite, personal protective equipment including but not limited to head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, high visibility clothing, and flame-resistant clothing may be required.Schedule9/80 schedule: Monday Thursday, 9-hour workdays, Fridays worked, 8-hour workday, with every other Friday off.
