MDG Design and Construction LLC, ( is an affordable housing developer, with over 30 years of excellence and industry leader real estate firm that develops and constructs high quality affordable housing.
Our company oversees all aspects of multifamily residential development, an expert in construction, development, and design and specializes in new construction and moderate rehabilitation of affordable apartment buildings nationally.
We are looking for either full-time or part-time Account Payable Specialists to join our accounting department located in Woodbury, Long Island.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Review and process invoices in compliance with company policies and procedures to insure timely and accurate recording.
· Responsible for a high volume of payables for suppliers, subcontractors and administrative vendors.
· Process A/P checks for mailing and distribution.
· Research and resolve inquiries from vendors regarding invoices and payments.
· Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any issues directly with clients and vendors.
· Perform other duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:
- Construction payables experience preferred.
- Experience using Timberline software a plus.
- Speed and accuracy are both required.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong follow-up and problem resolution skills.
- Dependability and good attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility and the ability to work as part of a team
- Proficient in MS Office; Word, Excel and Outlook-Calendar
- Working knowledge of accounting principles a plus
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication and outstanding customer service skills,
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, self-Motivated and ability to prioritize tasks and projects with limited direction and time constraints.
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise
- Must be a good culture fit: Professional presence, open-minded, positive attitude and team player
- Interact professionally with all office visitors and incoming callers.
- Experience handling sensitive and confidential information and material
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant accounts payable experience
