Accounts Receivable Specialist
(Manufacturing | Contract-to-Hire)
Pay Rate: $20-$22 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Position Overview
We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist with a minimum of 2 years of experience to support billing, collections, and cash application functions within a manufacturing environment. This contract-to-hire role is ideal for someone who understands the flow of invoices tied to production, equipment sales, and customer accounts, and who thrives in a detail-driven setting.

Position Overview
We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist with a minimum of 2 years of experience to support billing, collections, and cash application functions within a manufacturing environment. This contract-to-hire role is ideal for someone who understands the flow of invoices tied to production, equipment sales, and customer accounts, and who thrives in a detail-driven setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Obtain and review customer credit information through phone, email, fax, and written correspondence
- Maintain accurate customer credit files, including resale and tax exemption certificates
- Enter and manage accounts receivable data within the ERP system
- Monitor customer credit standing and assist in maintaining appropriate credit limits
- Respond to customer inquiries related to invoices, statements, shipments, and account balances
- Perform collection follow-ups on overdue balances while maintaining professional customer relationships
- Track open, incomplete, and delinquent accounts and communicate payment expectations
- Apply customer payments accurately and document anticipated payment dates
- Process and verify credit card payments while confirming account and billing details
- Assist with cash receipt application and basic bank reconciliations
- Prepare customer invoices related to manufactured products, equipment sales, and prepayment requirements
- Support month-end close activities, including reporting and closing non-production work orders
- Prepare journal entries and assist with general ledger reconciliations as needed
- Participate in special projects and cross-functional accounting initiatives
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Professional, courteous, and confident approach when working with customers and internal teams
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics AX or similar platforms
- Ability to learn proprietary manufacturing and billing systems
- Comfortable using standard office equipment, including computers and 10-key calculators
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- At least 2 years of Accounts Receivable experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Equivalent education and experience combinations will be considered
