Job Title Accounts Receivable Manager Location Alpine Department Accounting Services Department Job No. 998940 Posting Date 01/16/2026 Until Filled Yes Salary $57,866 Required Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field, or four or more years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience equivalent to the degree requirement. Three or more years of progressively responsible experience in student financial services, accounting, or business operations. Two or more years in a supervisory role in a higher education setting. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes. Excellent organizational and time‑management skills to handle multiple priorities. Ability to lead and supervise staff and manage stressful situations professionally. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. Preferred Five or more years of experience in student financial services, accounting, or business operations. Summary The Accounts Receivable Manager manages financial activities for students enrolled in both on-campus and accelerated online programs at Sul Ross State University and provides oversight and coordination for student business services. Responsibilities include tuition and fee processing, collections, refunds, third‑party billing, and compliance with State regulations. Primary Responsibilities Multi-Campus Oversight Coordinate student business services for Sul Ross State University. Ensure tuition and fee processing aligns with State reporting deadlines for both institutions. Collaborate with Sul Ross staff to resolve student account issues and maintain compliance. Provide Student Support And Resolve Disputes Respond promptly to student inquiries via email and phone. Review and approve or deny refund requests outside standard policy. Resolve disputes related to student financial accounts. Budget And Accounting Oversight Monitor and maintain budget revenue and expenditures. Review and enter accounting data to process faculty payments for course delivery and development. Personnel Management Supervise Accounts Receivable and Cashier Staff. Foster teamwork, maintain morale, and ensure timely completion of assignments. Select, train, and assign duties fairly; set goals and priorities. Monitor time‑off usage and complete performance evaluations. Program Oversight Manage Online Dual Credit program tuition payments and notifications. Process refunds to students or lenders as required. Additional Responsibilities Manage overdue accounts and initiate collections when necessary for both campuses. Create journal entries for the finance office for funds deposited at the bank or received by campus offices. Collaborate with Housing and Aramark to reconcile student meal plans and ensure timely vendor payments. Provide backups for all positions reporting to the Accounts Receivable Manager during prolonged absences. Other duties may be assigned to this position on a regular or occasional basis to respond to the needs of the university. Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer, with frequent use of hands and fingers for typing and handling documents. The role may involve occasional lifting of office materials and files weighing up to 20 pounds. Working Conditions This position is based in a standard office environment with moderate noise levels and involves frequent interaction with students, staff, and external vendors. Occasional extended hours may be required during peak periods such as registration and billing deadlines. Minimal travel may be necessary for training or university‑related meetings.
