Accounts Receivable Specialist Overland Park, KS | Fully Onsite Full-Time | Contract-to-Hire | up to $25ph. LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a client who is seeking an organized and proactive Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their Finance team. This role is responsible for invoicing, cash applications, collections, and ensuring timely and accurate processing of customer accounts. The ideal candidate is detail?driven, customer?focused, and comfortable working in a fast?paced environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Prepare and send customer invoices with accurate coding and documentation
- Apply customer payments (ACH, checks, wire transfers) to corresponding accounts
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances
- Communicate with customers to resolve billing issues and payment discrepancies
- Maintain accurate customer records and update account information as needed
- Perform monthly AR reconciliations
- Support month-end close by preparing AR reports and accruals
- Assist with credit checks and account setup for new customers
- Collaborate with internal departments (Sales, Customer Service, Operations) to resolve disputes
- Provide documentation for audits and compliance reviews
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-3 years of Accounts Receivable or general accounting experience
- Strong understanding of billing, collections, and cash application processes
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Workday)
- Knowledge of credit management and collections best practices
- Experience working with high-volume AR
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
