About the Role

The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for managing and processing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely customer collections. This role is crucial in cash flow management, customer account reconciliation, and financial reporting. It is ideal for detail-oriented individuals who thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and are skilled in financial analysis and customer communication.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Process customer payments accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely application to accounts.
  • Monitor and manage accounts receivable aging reports to ensure timely collections and minimize outstanding balances.
  • Reconcile customer accounts, investigate payment discrepancies, and follow up on outstanding invoices.
  • Generate and distribute invoices, statements, and collection notices in accordance with company policies.
  • Communicate with customers regarding payment inquiries, overdue accounts, and dispute resolution.
  • Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to ensure smooth account management and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including financial reporting and account reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulatory guidelines in all accounts receivable transactions.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • At least 2 years of accounts receivable experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy in data entry and financial transactions.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer interactions and internal collaboration.

 

Physical Demands

This role is primarily office-based, requiring regular communication with colleagues and customers. It involves using standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, and printers. Occasional standing and walking may be necessary.

 

Work Environment

This position operates in a climate-controlled office environment. There may be occasional interaction with production areas, which can involve exposure to machinery and varying temperatures.
