The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an acquisition program manager responsible for planning, developing, establishing, implementing, and controlling contractual, financial, and technical aspects of a project/program through designated phases of the acquisition cycle in the Systems Development Directorate. Duties DUTY 1: Assesses progress in assigned projects/programs including cost estimates, schedules, and performance supportability baseline requirements by applying known methods and procedures. DUTY 2: Plans, organizes, and coordinates activities of functional specialists including contracting, engineering, manufacturing, program control, configuration/data management, test, and logistics. DUTY 3: Reviews and directs the progress of contractors in meeting program objectives. DUTY 4: Prepares and presents staff studies for presentation to the Program Director and other management officials. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Shift work or irregular duty hours may be required. Baccalaureate (or higher) degree in general management, business administration, engineering management or a related acquisition field is and a master’s degree highly desirable. Employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
