Job Title - ACTIVE DIRECTORY ADMINISTRATOR
Location - Oxnard, California hybrid
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Active Directory Administrator to manage, secure, and optimize our AD environment. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the overall health, performance, and security of our AD infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration with various systems and compliance with organizational policies. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of AD technologies, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to lead initiatives that drive improvements in our directory services. Key Responsibilities: Active Directory Management: Oversee day-to-day operations of the Active Directory infrastructure, including domain controllers, replication, Group Policy management, and user/computer account administration. Perform regular health checks, monitor performance, and proactively address issues to ensure optimal functionality of the AD environment. Manage and troubleshoot AD-related issues, ensuring minimal impact on business operations. Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices and policies for the Active Directory environment. Conduct regular security audits and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to internal and external standards. Collaborate with the security team to address vulnerabilities and manage access controls, including multi-factor authentication and role-based access. Infrastructure Support & Integration: Integrate Active Directory with other enterprise systems such as email services, cloud applications (e.g., Azure AD), and identity management platforms. Support migrations, upgrades, and other changes to the AD environment, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal downtime. Provide guidance and support for AD integration projects and related IT initiatives. Troubleshooting & Incident Management: Serve as the point of escalation for complex AD issues, providing expert troubleshooting and resolution. Develop and maintain documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and incident reports. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure rapid resolution of incidents and implementation of preventive measures. Process Improvement & Documentation: Identify opportunities to improve and automate administrative tasks and processes within the AD environment. Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, changes, and procedures. Mentor and support junior administrators and IT staff on AD best practices and troubleshooting techniques. Qualifications & Experience: Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Technical Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in managing and administering Active Directory environments. Proven expertise in configuring and troubleshooting domain controllers, replication issues, and Group Policy. Experience with AD-integrated systems, including cloud-based directory services (e.g., Azure AD) and identity management solutions. Familiarity with related technologies such as DNS, DHCP, and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V). Security & Compliance: Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices as they relate to directory services. Experience in implementing security controls, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a detail-oriented approach. Strong communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment. Certifications (Preferred): Microsoft Certified: Windows Server or similar credentials. Relevant security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP) are a plus
