Job Description: Actuarial Analyst

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Actuarial Analyst to join our dynamic team. As an Actuarial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in analyzing data, conducting research, and performing complex calculations to support our actuarial functions. This position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your analytical skills in a collaborative environment, contributing directly to our strategic decision-making processes.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform statistical analyses and calculations to assess risk and support pricing models.
  • Analyze insurance data and financial statements to evaluate potential risks and trends.
  • Develop and maintain actuarial models and tools for forecasting and projections.
  • Collaborate with underwriters, finance, and other departments to provide actuarial insights and recommendations.
  • Prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations for management and stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in actuarial science.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and regulatory filings.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to improve business processes and outcomes.

Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Progress towards actuarial credentials (e.g., ASA, ACAS) preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in statistical software (such as SAS, R, or Python) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to interpret and manipulate large data sets.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
  • Time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of insurance products and principles of risk management.
