- Compensation: $480+ /credit hour
- Worksite Location: South Campus and/or Clinical Sites
Overview / Job Summary:
The Adjunct Faculty Instructor provides subject matter expertise. Additional responsibility to teach courses, adhering to lesson plans, meeting course objectives, beginning and ending courses on time as scheduled and adhering to academic faculty ethical and professional behaviors.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:
- Managing and supervising students in assigned classroom and laboratory activities to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
- Maintaining communication with students regarding course content, requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance policies.
- Developing, revising, and recommending curriculum changes to meet course objectives and enhance student learning.
- Ensuring compliance with WSU Tech Course Standards and implementing effective teaching methods and practices that reflect current industry standards.
- Maintaining an effective learning atmosphere regardless of instructional modality.
Requirements
Education:
- Associates degree required, BSN, is preferred.
Preferred Experience & Skills:
- Has and maintains a current Kansas RN license, required.
- Minimum two years current clinical experience, one of which must be equivalent to one year full-time in a licensed long term care facility.
- Has and maintains current American Heart Association or RedCross CPR certification for healthcare providers, required.
- Yearly TB test and other immunizations or physical examinations as required by clinical sites, obtained at own expense.
- Previous teaching or training experience in adult education preferred with pre-planning course work.
- Excellent verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills – must be able to work with students, technical and administrative personnel in a pleasant, professional, and efficient manner.
