This is a part-time instructor position teaching Phlebotomy courses in the Workforce Development and Community Education division, reporting to the Director, Health Occupations, and Nurse Aide Training. Note: At this time, there is no specific need. This is for a pool of applicants as needs arise. Job type: Part Time Job duties will include: Prepares course materials; uses appropriate teaching techniques including delivering lectures, leading discussions, and conducting laboratory demonstrations; and performs other activities related to course requirements. Conducts evaluations of student performance and assigns grades accordingly. Maintains records of student attendance and grades following college policies. Performs other duties as required to meet course objectives. Required Qualifications Associate’s degree in a related field. Preferred Qualifications Over three years of relevant industry experience with administrative and clinical procedures related to Phlebotomy. Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes. Experience in a community college setting. Experience with distance learning and/or alternative instructional delivery systems. Physical Demands Work is primarily performed under general supervision in an office or classroom setting with climate controls. Travel, early morning, evening, and weekend work may be required. Essential functions include lifting, manual dexterity, and communication skills. Physical exertion includes occasionally lifting up to 20 pounds, with regular walking and standing. Incumbents may need to kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, stoop, turn/twist, reach, or handle. Mental requirements involve memory, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability, and creative problem-solving skills.
