Administrative Support Assistant (OA)This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer.The incumbent will serve as an Administrative Support Assistant for the N1 Administration Department. You will support Command Travel Administrator providing guidance and processing of travel authorizations and vouchers. You will assist Command Pay Personnel Administrator (CPPA) with military personnel pay and transportation transactions. You will perform variety of administrative clerical functions such as: prepare correspondence/directives, manage command mail, serve as custodian for command files/directives. You will manage Common Access Card (CAC) and military identification for all eligible members.Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. To learn more about E-Verify, including your rights and responsibilities, visit e-verify.gov Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. This position requires the ability to type at least 50 words per minute. Please include your typing speed in your resume. This position requires the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing administrative, clerical and/or secretarial support services assisting the business operations, including but not limited to correspondence, records management, and/or travel administration. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: GS-07: You have successfully completed one full year of graduate education that is directly related to the position OR You have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the qualification requirements if the applicant can provide documentation indicating that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States. It is the responsibility of the applicant to provide such evidence when applying.
