What You Do and How You Do It: The Chesterfield-Colonial Heights Department of Social Services is seeking four experienced Administrative Analysts to be a part of our growing Quality Assurance team. As the Administrative Analyst , you will be responsible for providing quality control auditing services to the department to maintain and promote department efficiency, effectiveness, fiscal responsibility, and compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. In this position, you will support resources for the business needs of the department as well as facilitate audit reviews, attend meetings and trainings. Your work is essential to the Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) program integrity, risk management, service delivery, and compliance with federal mandates and state guidelines. The Quality Assurance team provides on-site quality reviews and procedural and programmatic audit activities for social services. Some of these programs include Title IV-E, Child Welfare, Adult Services, Employment Services, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), Medicaid (MA), Childcare (CC), General Relief Program, etc. In this role, you’ll be asked to apply organizational management principles and assess program effectiveness using data and various program evaluation methods that can be used to make decisions on complex cases. This position requires attention to detail, continual analysis and interpretation of data and policy with the ability to execute various projects concurrently. A strong understanding of Social Services, Benefit Programs, and Family Services Programs policies and procedures is essential for the ideal candidate. You would be required to multitask, think critically, analyze situations, and resolve problems while managing multiple and time-sensitive deadlines. Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary to elicit cooperation and contribute to overall department success. Effective team collaboration and organizational skills are crucial for completing assignments within deadlines. The position also entails collecting, interpreting, analyzing, and developing reports on program data. The ability to adapt to changes in operations and priorities is also required. Finally, this role involves consulting with teams on issues that have a significant, department-wide impact. Perform other work as required. Here’s What You Need: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or public administration, or related field; two years of experience in providing professional-level administrative, analytical and/or operational supporting the assigned area of responsibility; OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Skill to operate a personal computer and related software, develop and interpret spreadsheets, and other standard office equipment. We’re Looking for Ideal Candidates Who Have: Considerable experience in providing professional-level administrative, direct practice, analytical and/or operational support in the assigned area of responsibility preferred. Ability to identify case errors impacting payment accuracy, identify and define problems, analyze case information to determine if corrective action is needed, collect and evaluate data to identify compliance strengths and areas of improvements, and make recommendations preferred. Perform administrative duties like preparing related correspondence, spreadsheets and memos, attend meetings, conferences, and workshops preferred. Knowledge of how to interpret, apply, and explain complex federal, state and local laws related to social services preferred. Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of administrative management, business and management principles involved in strategic planning, and activities of local social services preferred. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers preferred.
