The Department of Economic Security, Division of Child Care (DCC) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Administrative Assistant 2 with the Operations Support Administration.
This position provides administrative support to Division of Child Care Leadership and Administrative staff at the area of assignment, as well as for Division of Child Care staff state-wide, as required; performs a variety of administrative tasks including research, special projects, client assistance.
This position answers calls from outside stakeholders and provides guidance on a variety of processes critical to the division's mission; researches and reconciles payments between the payment system and billing forms; assists with making payments to clients whenever the need arises; maintains office files, reviews documents for completeness.


This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Answers critical phone calls from clients and providers, providing guidance on payments, billings, and associated forms, ensuring timely communication with outside stakeholders to stay within timeliness guidelines.
  • Researches and reconciles billing in shared inbox and payment system to determine status of payments, and updates the affected parties in a timely manner.
  • Files paper and electronic records for the payment processing unit, ensuring compliance with record keeping statutes.
  • Assists with making payments in the payment system when needed.
  • Opens, date stamps, determines/executes distribution of mail, except correspondence marked \"Confidential\" for Division of Child Care staff; determines/executes distribution of mail that is not for Division of Child Care staff.

Pre-Employment Requirements

  • If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply: Driver's License Requirements.
    Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver's license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver's license record checks.
    The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended.
    Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training.
    An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.
