Position Summary

AMMON Staffing is hiring an Administrative Assistant (Sales Support) for a well-established industrial metals company in Baton Rouge. This is a key administrative role supporting a busy sales team in a stable, professional environment. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, confident on the phone, and comfortable handling daily priorities in a fast-paced office.

Pay: $24.00–$25.00/hour (DOE)

Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday | On-site (Baton Rouge)

Excel Experience Required (Daily Use)

This position requires strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for reporting, tracking, and maintaining sales-related information. You will use Excel regularly as part of daily operations.

Excel Skills Assessment (Required)

Candidates will complete a basic Excel assessment as part of the hiring process.

  • Must be taken on a computer/laptop (not a phone or tablet)
  • Candidates are welcome to complete the assessment in our office to avoid technical issues
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the sales team and office leadership
  • Create and maintain reports, spreadsheets, and trackers in Microsoft Excel
  • Enter, update, and verify data in the company’s ERP system
  • Answer and route incoming calls; provide professional customer support
  • Prepare documents, correspondence, and internal forms as needed
  • Order and maintain office and sales-related supplies
  • Assist with scheduling, coordination, and day-to-day sales operations support
  • Maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems; protect confidential information
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in an administrative assistant role (sales support preferred)
  • Excel experience required (data entry, formatting, basic formulas, sorting/filtering, reporting)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers and data
  • Professional phone and email communication skills
  • Comfortable learning and working in an ERP system
  • Reliable, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • High school diploma or equivalent required (additional education is a plus)
