Job Description
Focus Features is seeking an Administrative Assistant, Business Affairs for a temporary assignment of approximately 12-18 months. This person will work as part of the team which oversees business affairs administration for Focus Features, the company that produced and/or distributed such films as the Downton Abbey films, Darkest Hour, Phantom Thread, BlacKkKlansman, Brokeback Mountain, Moonrise Kingdom, Lost in Translation and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. The position will report to the Vice President, Business Affairs and is a great opportunity to interact with numerous film group teams at Focus Features and NBC Universal, including business affairs, legal affairs, acquisitions, production, physical production, post-production, marketing, publicity, finance, labor relations, music, and distribution.
Essential Responsibilities:
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the Vice President, Business Affairs with administrative functions (e.g., phones, meetings, filings, expense reports, etc.)
- Helping manage delivery and credits tracking databases
- Organizing and maintaining up-to-date digital filing systems
- Managing check requests and payments
- Liaising with various teams to stay abreast of delivery review deadlines
- Additional duties and projects as assigned by supervisor
- Providing coverage and assistance for other colleagues within the department as needed
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook with a working knowledge of PC operating systems and database management (familiarity with Microsoft Teams a plus)

- Ability to manage sensitive matters with a high level of confidentiality and discretion
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and familiarity with business and legal documents
- Detail-oriented, organized and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and work well with various personality types
- A self-starter; able to learn new functions quickly and accurately; anticipate departmental needs, and take proactive steps to follow through with proposed solutions
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
Please note that this role is a one year staff position.
This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
