Administrative Assistant The City of Chandler Police Department, Communications Division is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as the Administrative Assistant. This position provides administrative support duties for assigned staff including items such as data entry processing, materials, tracking information, creating requisitions and processing invoices and payments, maintaining calendars, making travel arrangements, answering and directing phone calls, providing information to the public, and processing work orders. This is a regular full-time, non-exempt hourly position with benefits. The anticipated work schedule for this position is a 4/10 or 5/8 schedule dependent on Division needs. The Patrol Operations Division three precincts, 1) Main Station - Downtown & North Chandler, 2) Desert Breeze - West Chandler, and 3) Chandler Heights - South Chandler, work in concert with the Criminal Investigations Bureau, Operational Support Bureau, and Professional Services Division to meet the needs of the community. Who we are looking for Our ideal Administrative Assistant candidate will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment; and, when assigned to the Communications Division, the successful candidate must be able to do the following: When assigned to the Police Department this position researches investigations tracks cases and assignments. Issues and tracks specialized public safety equipment maintains associated records and files. Completes helpdesk tickets related to assigned programs may serve as administrator or assign programs. Maintains data and information related to program and area assignment. Processes extra duty assignments. Assists with scheduling absent employee relief for sworn personnel Creates acquisitions. Processes invoices payments and process work orders and requests. Minimum qualifications Must possess a High School or GED equivalency. Must have at least 2-years administrative support experience; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work. Must be able to obtain a Department of Public Safety Level D Termination Operator Certification within 6-months of hire. Desired qualifications Preferred applicants will possess at least 4-years administrative support experience Preferred applicants will have previous experience working in a law enforcement administrative environment as sworn or professional staff Preferred applicants will currently possess a DPS Level D Termination Operator Certificate Supervision Work is performed under the supervision of a division supervisor or manager. This position does not supervise others. Application Process NeoGov Application Oral Board Interview Background Interview Drug and Alcohol Screen Interview with Chief of Police This is a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits, with a 4/10 or 5/8 schedule dependent on Division needs. The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment background check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results. All applicants hired will be required to be fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment.
