Position SummaryThe Ice Road Clerk provides clerical, administrative, and field support for ice road construction, maintenance, and usage activities at Prudhoe Bay. This role plays a critical part in supporting safe, compliant, and efficient winter logistics, including monitoring road usage, tracking vehicle movements, maintaining operational records, and assisting with safety and environmental compliance in remote Arctic conditions.Key ResponsibilitiesIce Road Operations SupportTrack and record vehicle traffic (loads, axle weights, permits) on ice roadsMaintain ice road access logs, movement sheets, and load restriction documentationAssist Ice Road Supervisors with day‑to‑day operational coordinationMonitor road usage compliance with speed limits, convoy rules, and load restrictionsSupport ice road opening, closures, and reroutes due to weather or road conditionsDocumentation & ReportingMaintain accurate daily ice road reportsRecord incidents, near‑misses, and road condition observationsTrack permits, access approvals, and contractor usageAssist with compiling weekly and end‑of‑season documentationSafety & Environmental ComplianceSupport enforcement of HSE and environmental protection requirementsEnsure vehicles comply with tundra and ice road travel rulesReport environmental concerns, spills, equipment damage, or wildlife interactionsParticipate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and Arctic safety briefingsCommunication & CoordinationServe as a communication link between:Ice road crewsDispatch/logistics teamsField operations and contractorsMaintain radio and/or electronic communication with vehicle operatorsCoordinate with operations during weather delays or emergency situationsArctic & Prudhoe Bay‑Specific DutiesWork outdoors and in mobile field offices in sub‑zero temperaturesSupport winter operations during limited daylight conditionsFollow Arctic survival, cold‑weather PPE, and vehicle safety protocolsAdapt to rapidly changing weather, ice integrity, and operational constraintsRequired QualificationsEducationHigh school diploma or GED requiredExperiencePrior experience in:Oil and gas field operationsLogistics, dispatch, or clerical supportAlaska North Slope or Arctic environments (preferred)Seasonal or winter operations experience strongly preferredCertifications (Required or Preferred)Arctic or Cold Weather Safety Training (or ability to obtain)First Aid / CPR (preferred)H2S Awareness (preferred)
