Job description:

  • The Administrative Support Specialist position described in this job summary is assigned to the Tallapoosa River System (Harris, Martin, Yates, & Thurlow Dams). Responsibilities include general administrative support including, but not limited to the following:
  • Provide support to the Tallapoosa River Team.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements.
  • Perform timekeeping and process employee expense reports for covered and non-covered personnel (Oracle & iExpense Oracle Cloud).
  • Actively support community activities.
  • Schedule and coordinate coordination for meetings and plant-wide events.
  • Gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Maintain departmental record retention.
  • Purchase departmental and plant gift cards, safety gifts, and coordinate service awards and retirement events.
  • Prepare weekly on-call schedule.
  • Schedule and organize plant tours.

Experience & Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Five years administrative experience is preferred (including conference, travel and meeting arrangements, report preparation and calendar management)
  • Accounts Payable experience is preferred.
  • Experience with timekeeping systems is preferred.
  • Experience working with union employees in a plant environment is highly desirable.
  • Extensive computer experience with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Cheerful outlook and ethical behavior
  • Must manage sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Initiative-taker; work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to make sound administrative/procedural decisions.
  • Skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities; attain deadlines.
  • Interact well with all levels of employees and management.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
