Job Summary:
Under general supervision, the Administrative Services Assistant will support an executive by relieving administrative details, handling correspondence, making travel arrangements, and managing staff. The position requires interaction with various government offices, community organizations, and staff, along with managing complaints and requests. The assistant will also attend legislative functions and manage executive-related communications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a liaison between the executive's office and the governor's office, state and federal agencies, and community organizations.
- Attend legislative meetings and functions to gather information.
- Handle complaints and requests from the legislature, departments, employees, and citizens.
- Attend receptions, luncheons, and other gatherings to perform personal contact duties.
- Assign, train, and supervise clerical staff; evaluate performance and make recommendations on personnel actions.
- Manage routine correspondence and prepare non-routine correspondence as required.
- Assemble information for speeches, meetings, and other purposes; take minutes during staff meetings.
- Make travel arrangements, keep expense accounts, and order office supplies.
- Operate standard office equipment as necessary.
Education and Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent.
