Job Description:
Southern Highlands Community Mental Health Clinic (SHCMHC) is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Clinical Records Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate and confidential clinical records in compliance with HIPAA standards, supporting clinical and administrative staff, and ensuring proper documentation, scanning, and distribution processes across all sites. The ideal candidate is tech-savvy, attentive to detail, and committed to upholding SHCMHC’s mission while treating clients with dignity and respect.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and organize clinical records, ensuring HIPAA compliance.

  • Prepare, scan, and distribute daily documentation for clinicians.

  • Assist staff with records-related questions and technical support.

  • Manage microfilm, microfiche, and other scanning processes.

  • Support records operations at all SHCMHC sites.

  • Ensure proper release of information procedures are followed.

  • Perform clerical duties and other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency with software (e.g., Word, Excel) and scanning processes.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively.

  • Adaptable, problem-solving mindset, and willingness to learn.
