Administrative Support Assistant (OA)This position is with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Southwestern Division, Ft Worth District with a duty station location of Edinburg, Fort Hood, or Fort Worth, TX. Please see "Additional Information" section below for further details.DutiesReview records of subordinate branch and sections to insure property records are accurate and adequate.Review training requests to ensure that the requests are in accordance with Individual Development Plans (IDP's) of the employees.Review, study, analyze and implements new and/or revised instructions affecting the organizations operations, personnel, reports and various other administrative activities.Prepares travel and training requests in the Corps of Engineers Financial Management System (CEFMS).Provide administrative support coordinating clerical and day-to-day administrative support activities that are typically required to accomplish the work of the organization.RequirementsConditions of employmentAppointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.QualificationsWho May Apply: Only applicants who meet one of the employment authority categories below are eligible to apply for this job. See Proof of Eligibility for an extensive list of document requirements for all employment authorities.Current Department of Army Civilian Employees Applying on Time-Limited AssignmentsMinimum Qualifications: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing at least two out of the following two areas: 1) Procuring supplies, equipment, and/or materials for an office/organization to include ordering supplies; AND 2) Performing personnel support duties for an office to include arranging travel, submitting time and attendance, and scheduling training for office/organization personnel. OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration or Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.Time in Grade Requirements: FEDERAL EMPLOYEES: Normally applicants are required to have specialized experience and time in grade at the GS-06 level for this series and grade. The organization does not have any permanent GS-06 positions so for this recruitment applicants may qualify for the GS-05 level if they possess 1 year of specialized experience and time in grade at the GS-09 level. NONFEDERAL EMPLOYEES: This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
