Job Description
Position Summary
Secretary III is responsible for recording and transmitting messages, keeping records of calls placed, providing information to callers and visitors, making appointments, keeping a log of visitors, and will include traditional secretarial responsibilities.
Essential Functions of the Position
- Performs traditional secretarial responsibilities
- Serve as the initial point of contact for customers seeking HHG and Travel assistance
- Relaying incoming, outgoing, calls, directs callers to requested counselor
- Recording and transmitting messages; keeping records of calls placed; providing information to callers and visitors
- Handling incoming and outgoing mail, ensure that documents are reviewed before it is processed by the assigned counselor.
- Schedule appointments and brief customers regarding Travel PCS Entitlements
- Perform general clerical duties included but not limited to filing, report preparation, and other relevant duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Maintains log of all personnel entering or leaving transportation office

Supervisory Responsibilities
No direct supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands
- Required to walk, stand, sit and move about the property for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
- Indoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.
- Noise level can range from minimal to intense
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED, and a minimum of six months of related work experience.
- Basic understanding of military PCS travel.
- Must be able to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English.
- Possess a Valid Drivers’ License.
Security Requirements:
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be able to pass a National Criminal Background Check
