AdministratorManage all business related activity to achieve Caraday's vision and supporting strategies and assures that the company image as an ethical and high quality provider of health services is maintained.Essential Functions:Direct the location staff to provide high quality in daily care which meets/exceeds all internal/external standards within budget parameters, including but not limited to nursing services, physical plant and environmentListen to family questions and concerns, assist with resolving issues and explain related company actions and decisionsComplete daily rounds to assess resident climate and to address complaints or other issues; refer these issues to appropriate department head or other personnelDrive Quality Assurance program in the center and ensure the implementation of follow up or corrective actionIntervene as appropriate in potentially threatening situations and follow-up with staff after crisis has been resolvedOversee preparations for licensure certification surveysScope renovation needs of the facility and gain appropriate support for renovationsManage the admissions process and marketing activities within the facility; utilize marketing support to determine the use of marketing resources for the facility and the use of staff for facility specific tasks related to the approved corporate marketing programsEnsure maintenance of high quality mix by reviewing census and case mix dailyProvide input to facility Business Development department on marketing call plans, amount/type of marketing training needed for facility and request for advertising budget and its useRepresent the facility in communication, public relations and marketing calls in the communityOrganize the functions of the nursing home through appropriate departmentalization and the delegations of duties; establish formal means of accountabilityPromote and maintain pro-active, positive employee relations programsMaintain frequent, daily informal interaction and provide positive feedback to staff while they are working; maintain an open door policy in dealing with staffFollow, interpret and enforce corporate personnel policiesCommunicate clearly and responsively on issues arising in the facility to decision makers who are outside of the facility and follow-up to minimize impact of issuesRecruit, interview, hire and train department heads and other facility personnelManage the performance management process within the facility; ensure employees are compensated for merit within Caraday pay guidelinesTerminate or redeploy staff for performance related issues or unethical behaviorFollow up on all complaints of sexual harassment as appropriatePrepare annual budget with Regional Vice President of Operations or other corporate representative by reviewing past years budget and the plan it supports by meeting established census, revenue and expense targets; provides input to purchasing for all budgeted capital expenditures and purchases above guideline amountsReview financial statements monthly and identifies items which do not fall within established parameters; identify cause of budget discrepancies and review with department headsCommunicate budget and provide assistance/guidance to department heads in maintaining appropriate budget levels; teach/coach department heads in meeting financial requirements and documentation guidelinesTrack and hold accounts receivable reviews monthly to see that they are collecting in a timely mannerMaintain compliance with corporate internal audit reportInstall and manage facility procedures/systems consistent with Caraday's needsOversee completion of forms, reports, etc., including state licensure reports, monthly financial reports, Public Health or Department of Labor surveys, plans of corrections, responses to corporate request, replies to resident council and others as neededReview and sign accounting records, payroll, incident/accident reports, resident trust fund reconciliation and resident funds approvalMaintain an "On-Call" status for emergency situationsUse tactful, appropriate communication in sensitive and emotional situationsPromote positive public relations with patients, residents, family members, and guestsUse appropriate workplace behavior; adhere to dress code at all timesAgree to comply with the Code of ConductSupport and participate in common teamwork:Cooperate and work together with all co-workers; plan and complete job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgmentReport complaints, problems and concerns regarding co-workers, management or residents in accordance with company policyComplete requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene and other work duties as assignedUnderstand and adhere to the guidelines of "Residents Rights" and assure resident safetyQualifications:Current licenses as required by state lawFamiliarity with long-term care and/or health care servicesValid driver's license and proof of insuranceAbility to understand, remember and carry out verbal and/or written instructions in EnglishAbility to speak clearly and hear well enough to communicate with sourcesAbility to complete assignments while having constant interruptionsManagement experience equal to 1 yearLong Term Care experience equal to 1 yearPhysical Requirements: The ability to safely perform movements such as pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, and reaching up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.Work Schedule: As assigned; including some weekends, evenings and holidays
