Job Summary:

The Cyclotron Research Group is seeking an Administrator to serve as a first point of contact for the group in its interactions with UW and external collaborators, users, and colleagues, and to assist with the management of group logistics related to staff and trainee laboratory work, purchasing, and coordination. The Group is a small, closely-knit team currently comprised of 11 faculty, staff, and students that uses its accelerators to make radionuclides for medicine and research. The Group is homed in the Department of Medical Physics, one of a small number of basic science departments in the UW School of Medicine and Public Health. It currently supports over $300M of scientific research distributed throughout North America and routinely engages an international, vibrant, collaborative community.

Responsibilities:

Provides administrative support for a department, group of professionals, or to the manager of a work group consisting of professional staff and subordinate supervisors in support of unit goals, under general supervision
  • 40% Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, conferences, travel, and work unit operations
  • 5% Serves as a first point of contact for individuals and groups, provides basic organizational information via phone, in person and through other communication mediums, and routes more complex inquiries to the appropriate entities
  • 5% Collects, analyzes, and prepares various communication materials from established sources utilizing technology mediums
  • 5% Sends, receives, copies, and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures under general supervision
  • 25% Maintains established methods and organizational systems directed at the maintenance of electronic/physical records related to work operations according to established policies and procedures
  • 15% Manages Cyclotron Group logistics including travel, group professional and scientific scheduling, materials procurement and sourcing, and creation provision of supporting documentation
  • 5% Assists Cyclotron Group with financial accountability

This position is Monday through Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm, with 30-minute lunch. Hours may vary based on operational need.

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.
