Overview The Admission Clerk handles admissions procedures for hospital inpatients and outpatients. Obtains all necessary information, and is responsible for the completeness and accuracy of all forms and consents. The Admission Clerk carries out these duties while respecting the dignity and privacy of patients. Responsibilities Register patients in the Emergency Department and Front admitting areas. Process workers compensation (C-4 Forms) to ensure a timely turnaround to compensation carriers and employers. Process transfers, admits and discharges. Qualifications Prefer high school graduate or GED. Knowledge of medical terminology, human physiology, and anatomy preferred. Strongly prefer at least one (1) year of office, computer, and data entry experience. Communicate and comprehend accurately and effectively in English through written and verbal correspondence. Must have high integrity and ability to maintain confidential information. Maintain a pleasant and professional demeanor under pressure, with multiple duties, emotional situations, and constant interruptions in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, if needed. Must be able to work evenings and weekends, as needed. #J-18808-Ljbffr
