Purpose: You are an outgoing and communicative team member who supports and leads the team by caring personally and challenging professionally. You serve as a first point of contact in the adoption area and resolve routine problems and concerns. You contribute to a culture of improvement and a culture of why.
Pay Rate: $18/hour

Schedule: Full-time; 40 hours/week
- Shifts are 8 hours in length
- Saturday/Sunday: shift times between 9:45a-6:15p
- Tuesday-Friday: shift times between 11:45a-8:15p
- Ideal schedule: Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday (Monday & Wednesday off)
Location: Coon Rapids, MN
What you will be doing:
Leadership — Own outcomes, work collaboratively, and hold yourself and the team accountable. Open and close the adoption center and coordinate daily work tasks and schedules. Model the coaching approach to leadership.
Customer Service — Greet and respond to inquiries of both internal and external customers. Actively assist and advise on the adoption and hold process. Process merchandise sales and adoptions.
Communication — Listen, pay attention, and be a responsible steward of information.
Support — Assist in guiding, coaching, and training the team, building schedules, managing time records, and planning or leading staff meetings. Ensure consistent and quality service delivery. Maintain merchandise inventory levels and support animal flow, rounds, and daily deposits.
Culture — Foster an open and inclusive work environment by modeling AHS’s behaviors and values, consistent with the vision and mission of the organization. Champion a culture of safety and promote meaningful volunteer engagement.

Requirements
What we are looking for:
Schedule — Regular, predictable attendance, punctuality, and availability to work during operational hours as defined by leadership with the expectation to work varied hours including evening and weekend shifts.
Experience — Leadership experience or the desire to be a leader required. Customer service experience preferred.
Computer Skills — Proficient with computers, specifically, a working knowledge of Microsoft products.
Adaptability — Ability to work in a professional and positive manner with high attention to detail in a variety of situations and the willingness to assist at other sites.
Communication — Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, must have ability to work as a leader of the team and partner collaboratively with external and internal customers and departments.
Physical & Emotional Capabilities — Must be able to handle the physical and emotional aspect of work in an animal shelter environment, including the use of and assisting with euthanasia. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Must have a high level of resiliency.
