ADVANCED MANUFACTURING TECHNICIAN

Primo Medical Group needs a very creative & organized Advanced Manufacturing Technician to hit the ground running and execute in a fast-paced environment. This position will assist Project and Production Managers in all phases of the development, testing, troubleshooting, operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of assigned product lines.. Additionally, responsibilities include clearly defining processes and the proper training of staff and facilitating manufacturing and engineering tasks or projects, by exercising autonomy to accomplish necessary activities with limited direction.

The role of the Advanced Manufacturing Technician is to support process development for new and existing products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Includes:

SUPPORT:

-R&D & Production builds for specific processes.

-The development of a manufacturing line during feasibility phase (pre-production) by:

  • Providing technical feedback during process design, specific to the assembly or manufacturing operation.
  • Provide technical feedback to Process Flowchart & MFG Procedures.
  • Provide feedback on fixturing needs and performance.

-Identify and train lead operations personnel and support team members

  • Identify and address skills gaps through enhanced training and/or alignment of resources to tasks.
  • Solicit operations team inputs for improvements to processes and procedures.

-Support on-going manufacturing operations, including troubleshooting of issues which arise during production and assisting with root cause identification and implementation of corrective action(s).

-Support transition of manufacturing lines from Engineering Development to Manufacturing Operations as required.

Oversee operators during engineering and project tasks with limited direction provided, including:

-Product builds, Train operators, coordinate or submit build documentation to Quality.

-Time studies for process improvement.

-Line layout suggestions, component layout on the manufacturing floor.

-Identify new or enhanced Fixturing requirements.

(Other duties may be assigned, as needed and applicable to an individual’s skill set)

Supervisory Responsibilities

Oversee Operators during product builds but with no direct reports.

-Ensure adherence to process and procedure.

- development build schedules.

Qualifications

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Mechanical Skills

  • Hands on mechanical ability to use basic tools and understand basic mechanical concepts. Experience with compressed air systems, fixturing and manual assembly techniques.

Education and/or Experience

  • Associates degree from a two-year college or university; or completed high school education with one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general guidance documents, technical procedures, engineering drawings and governmental regulations. Ability to read and understand basic standard operating procedures.

Communication Skills

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office specifically Word, Excel and Visio.
