Advanced Practice Clinician (NDHC)Job Category: MedicalLocation: Sanders, AZ, USADescriptionClosing Date: Open Until Filled (OUF)Salary Range: Dependent on Experience (DOE)Applicant must have a valid unrestricted insurable driver's license.Resume and references are required.Essential duties, functions, and responsibilities include:Providing diagnostic, preventative, and therapeutic health services to patients and family members.Securing a health and developmental history from the patient or parent and performing a detailed physical exam.Performing or requesting special screening and developmental tests and diagnostic tests and procedures and interpreting the results.Making decisions concerning medical care needs of patients which may involve various treatment modalities, prescribed medications, consultation, and referral when appropriate.Providing direct and independent medical care in the presence of illness or disability in order to maintain life, provide comfort, reduce distress, and enhance coping ability.Providing surveillance or medical practices applied to stabilize chronically ill persons; adjusting treatments within established standing orders recognizing when to refer the patient to the physician or other health team members.Working collaboratively with physicians in management of selected complex medical problems.Participating with other professionals and agencies involved in providing health care and services required to include immunization and disease control, environmental health, and health education.Evaluating the medical aspects of treatment plans periodically, recognizing when reassessment by a physician or other health professionals is appropriate. Evaluating total health care needs of patients and developing or initiating plans to meet these needs.Providing medical care and preventive services to health individuals, including guidance in nutrition, common illnesses, accidents, child growth and development, and child rearing, and immunizations.Maintaining knowledge and proficiency in medical practices through continuing education, staff meetings, and workshops, and home study.Teaching patients and family members' ways to maintain or improve their health status.Maintaining records and reports on patients, personal activities, and other required information for use in program operation, quality assurance, and other purposes.Participating in Quality Assurance (QA) and Performance Improvement (PI) review processes.Providing full range of emergency services or crisis intervention including lifesaving emergency procedures in order to stabilize a patient sufficiently until a higher level of care is available.Performing other duties as assigned.Minimum Mandatory QualificationsExperience:One (1) year of direct work experience as an Advanced Practice Clinician.Education:Nurse Practitioner:Completion of an Advanced Nurse Practitioner School in any of the following areas:Accredited Family Nurse PractitionerAccredited Adult Nurse PractitionerAccredited Adult-GerontologyActive unrestricted Advanced Nurse Practitioner license in any U.S. State or Territory in any of the following areas:Family Nurse PractitionerAdult Nurse PractitionerAdult-GerontologyNational Certification from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, or the American Nurses Credentialing CenterActive unrestricted Registered Nurse license from any U.S. State or Territory.Physician Assistant:Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program.Board Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.Active, unrestricted Physician Assistant License from any U.S. State or Territory.Please email degree or transcripts to: Ophelia.Anthony@fdihb.orgNavajo/Indian Preference:FDIHB, Inc. is located within the Navajo Nation and, in accordance with Navajo Nation law, has implemented a Navajo/Indian Preference in Employment Policy.
