Job Title: Advanced Practice Nurse (PD) Days MMC NO Behavioral Location: Barnabas Health Medical Group Department: MMC NO Behavioral Req #: 0000164746 Status: Per Diem Shift: Day Pay Range: $57.69 - $81.73 per hour Pay Transparency: The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview: The Crisis Receiving Stabilization Center (CRSC) is an alternative to traditional crisis services that offers access to crisis stabilization, operating as a 24/7 Urgent Care with a mental health focus. The CRSC is intended to reduce police engagement, arrests, incarcerations and 911 calls, by assessing individuals 18 years of age and older in a behavioral health crisis associated with a serious mental illness (SMI) and/or substance use disorder (SUD). Goals of care are to interrupt and or ameliorate a behavioral health crisis, reduce symptoms, help restore the individual to a previous level of functioning, and avoid where possible more restrictive levels of treatment. CRSC will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year. Qualifications: Required: Master's degree in Nursing required. Registered Professional Nurse with current NJ state license CDS and DEA. CPR certification. APN License NP Certification. Three to five years of work experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Scheduling Requirements: Per Diem Weekends Essential Functions: The Advanced Practice Nurse provides an advanced level of nursing care based upon graduate education and broad experience with behavioral health patients and their families. The APN practices in collaboration with the physicians, clinicians, case managers and other health care professionals. The APN is responsible for performing duties independently following established and standardized procedures and methods referring questionable situations to physician. The ANP provides behavioral health care through assessment, diagnosis, treatment, clinical judgment and management to restore, maintain and improve the health status of patients. Administers injections, immunizations and oral medications, starts IV. Assists physician by recording patient progress notes, issues diagnostic orders, and transcribes orders. Assists with various counseling and education functions. Billing for patient services based on CMS and NJ State Board Regulations. Demonstrates satisfactory knowledge and judgment to provide appropriate care for patients. Develops plan of care for patients in coordination with multidisciplinary team and completes appropriate reports to physicians and family. Documents and maintains patient records of services provided according to facility and nursing standards. Establishes a collaborative relationship with other medical providers. Examines patients to determine presence of illness, utilizing physical findings, laboratory results, medical history, ascertains nature and extent of illness and prescribes treatments as indicated. Interviews, instructs and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention. Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions. Issues prescriptions to patients based on Federal & State Regulations. Orders and reviews appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Reviews all lab data and documents. Participates in the development of protocols. Performs and obtains a completed medical history and physical data on patients with appropriate documentation and findings. Performs independent evaluations and treatment procedures in emergency situations. Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits. Responsible for coordinating nursing and training programs on compliant for policies such as HIPAA, OSHA, Code of Conduct. Responsible for maintaining the quality and adequacy of nursing practice. Reviews and audits charts routinely. Sutures wounds, incise and drains wounds, repairs lacerations. Works in collaboration with a physician to diagnose conditions as necessary.
