Position Summary The Advanced Practice Nurse provides high quality, cost-effective patient care that supports established specialty practice objectives and strategic organizational goals. The Advanced Practice Nurse establishes preventive measures, diagnoses and treats illnesses and disorders in a competent manner that is consistent with medical practice and joint protocols as established with the collaborating physician. This position ensures that patient care is delivered in a cost-effective manner, managing and utilizing resources optimally. By demonstrating compassion and respect for the individual, the Advanced Practice Nurse provides care that meets the customer's expectations. The Advanced Practice Nurse works collaboratively with physician leaders, administration and staff to improve clinical outcomes. This position participates in quality improvement efforts organization-wide and plays an active role as a member of the appropriate divisional and departmental committees. The Advanced Practice Nurse maintains current technical knowledge and seeks educational and professional opportunities to enhance clinical practice and competency. The Advanced Practice Nurse contributes towards the organization's educational programs and teaching activities. This position participates in the peer review process to enhance clinical practice, demonstrating sound judgment and respect for colleagues. Qualifications Master's degree in nursing from an accredited school or grandfathered by NJ Law. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey, certified by the State Board of Nursing. Certification in area of specialty required and granted privileges from Atlantic City Medical Center medical staff. NRNNP, C or RNCNS, C registry unencumbered. ACLS required in Urgent Care, AtlantiCare Physician Group, and Heart Failure Program. BLS required. Experience Minimum 2 years experience in the field of specialty as RN in the State of New Jersey. Proficiency in clinical applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents will be trained appropriately and the skill will be required within 30‑60 days from date of hire. Performance Expectations Demonstrates the ability to perform the department‑specific competencies as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool. Work Environment Potential for exposure to hazards and risks of the hospital environment, including infectious disease, hazardous substances, blood‑borne pathogens, and injury. Physical demands include stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing heavy equipment, standing, walking, and lifting approximately 25‑30 lbs frequently. Reporting Relationship This Advanced Practice Nurse collaborates with the physician and reports to the appropriate Administrator. The position also reports to Nursing or Departmental Leadership.
