Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited school or grandfathered by New Jersey law. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey and certification by the State Board of Nursing. Certification in the area of specialty required, with granted privileges from Atlantic City Medical Center medical staff. NRNNP, C or RNCNS, C registry unencumbered. ACLS required in Urgent Care, AtlantiCare Physician Group and Heart Failure Program; BLS required. Position Summary The Advanced Practice Nurse provides high‑quality, cost‑effective patient care that supports established specialty practice objectives and strategic organizational goals. The Advanced Practice Nurse establishes preventive measures, diagnoses and treats illnesses and disorders in a competent manner that is consistent with medical practice and joint protocols as established with the collaborating physician. This position ensures that patient care is delivered in a cost‑effective manner and manages resources optimally. By demonstrating compassion and respect for the individual, the Advanced Practice Nurse provides care that meets the customer’s expectations. The nurse works collaboratively with physician leaders, administration and staff to improve clinical outcomes, participates in quality improvement efforts organization‑wide, and serves on divisional and departmental committees. The Advanced Practice Nurse maintains current technical knowledge and seeks educational and professional opportunities to enhance clinical practice and competency. The nurse contributes to the organization’s educational programs and teaching activities and participates in the peer review process to enhance clinical practice, demonstrating sound judgment and respect for colleagues. Qualifications Education: Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited school or grandfathered by New Jersey law. License: Current RN license in New Jersey and certification by the State Board of Nursing. Certification: Specialty certification required and privileges granted by Atlantic City Medical Center medical staff. Registry: NRNNP, C or RNCNS, C unencumbered. ACLS: Required in Urgent Care, AtlantiCare Physician Group and Heart Failure Program; BLS required. Experience: Minimum 2 years as RN in New Jersey. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at hire. Performance Expectations Demonstrates the ability to perform the department‑specific competencies as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool. Work Environment Potential exposure to hazards and risks of the hospital environment, including infectious disease, hazardous substances, blood‑borne pathogens and potential injury. Physical demands include stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing heavy equipment and excessive standing and walking. Lifting approximately 25–30 lbs frequently. Reporting Relationship The Advanced Practice Nurse collaborates with the physician and reports to the appropriate Administrator.
